1) Access the battery from the side covers or under the seat. Now disconnect the ( BLACK-NEGATIVE) battery terminal first to avoid electrical shorts.
2) Check all LED's you have purchased to insure no damage was done during shipping. Connect a jumper from the NEGATIVE ( BLACK) Lead of a 12V battery source to the black wire on you LED'S. Now connect a POSITIVE ( RED ) lead of the same 12v battery to the RED lead on the LED. NOTE: check all LED's prior to installation.
3) The LED's are polarity sensitive. This means the RED wire on the LED must connect to the POSITIVE ( RED ) Terminal. The Black wire must connect to the NEGATIVE ( BLACK ) Terminal. The LED lights cannot be run in series. That means all positive ( RED ) wires connect to a common positive power supply. All ( GROUND/ NEGATIVE BLACK) wires must connect to a common ground.
4) Locate a position for a switch( if purchasing a remote this step in skipped ). IMPORTANT: you will need easy access to your switch after the seat and side covers have been reinstalled. Using the double sided tape and Promoter secure the switch in place.
5) Locate a mounting position for the LED lights that offer the Largest overall lighting effect and coverage. If needed use the enclosed wire and the shrink tubing to add additional wire to the LED leads. Ensure you make with connection BLACK TO BLACK and RED TO RED. All wires after LED'S have been mounted should meet at one location closest to your power supply. IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE ALL CONNECTIONS ARE FIRMLY TWISTED TOGETHER AND ENOUGH WIRE IS LEFT TO ROUTE.
6) We recommend cleaning the mounting area's with isopropyl alcohol first. Then use the provided 3m promoter to prime the area that you just cleaned. Now, remove the tape backing and firmly press down onto the prepared surface: NOTE: make sure the LED pods are pointing in the desired direction before placing on surface.
7) Run all LED wires to a central point , make sure that you leave enough length on the wires to route them out of site. Make sure that they are not going to get too hot or get caught in any moving parts. You will also want to leave a little extra for stripping the black outer case off. Strip off about 2" of the outer case. this will expose the two wires inside one BLACK and one RED. Now strip about 1" of the casing from these two wires. Perform this on all remaining wires. You will now need to twist all the RED wires together and separately twist all the BLACK wires together. Your should now have two leads one RED and one BLACK.
8) Now open the gates on the cage connectors provided. take the BLACK leads and place into the cage and close the gate. check to insure the connection is made.
9) Now open the gates on the last cage connectors provided. take the RED leads and place into the cage and close the gate. check to insure the connection is made.
10) Take one lead from the switch and place it in one of the open gates with the red leads and close the gate. Check to insure the connection is made.
11) take the other end of the switch and connect it to one side of the fuse holder provided.
12) From the NEGATIVE ( BLACK ) side of the battery. Run one lead to the Negative to the Cage Connector with the BLACK leads and secure in a open Gate.
13) From the POSITIVE ( RED ) side of the battery. Run one lead to the Positive cage connector with the RED leads and secure in a open gate.
14) Check to insure all the RED wires are connected to one cage connector and all the BLACK wires are connected to the other cage connector.
15) turn on the switch and check our your Lights.
16) secure any wires with the provided tie wraps.,
17) replace all covers, seats ect.
